Shai Alexander Commits to Kentucky

One of the top point guards in the Class of 2017, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, is off the boards as he announced he has committed to Kentucky via his twitter this morning.

The Hamilton Heights Christian (TN) senior guard, who de-committed from Florida last month, recently visited Kentucky where he picked up an offer from head coach John Calipari. Although the Wildcats have come late into Alexander’s recruitment, they have been seen as the favorite for the 6’4 guard from Canada since his reopened his recruitment.

Alexander is the Wildcats third commitment in the last week with five-star recruits P.J. Washington (Findlay Prep) and Nick Richards (The Patrick School) announcing their commitments. With current Kentucky freshman point guard De’Aaron Fox on many NBA mock drafts, it is likely that Alexander may be the top floor general next season for the Wildcats.

A big guard that possesses superb vision on the court, Gilgeous-Alexander was a key member for Team Portis Wings Elite in the Nike EYBL circuit where he averaged 15.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.8 assist per game.

Ballboy Hype will have more on this story in a few.
