New Hampshire junior forward Tanner Leissner scored 31 points in New Hampshire’s 86-70 win over Detroit Mercy.
The 6’7 face-up 4 scored 18 of his 31 points in the second half and shot 9 for 13 on the night while grabbing eight rebounds. Senior guard Jaleen Smith chipped in 20 points and 11 rebounds while fellow senior, Daniel Dion, finished with 14 points and 5 rebounds.
The much needed win came after the Wildcat’s blowout 100-41 loss to West Virginia on Sunday where Leissner was held to 8 points and Smith, scoreless.
Leading the way for Detroit Mercy was junior forward Jaleel Hogan, who finished with 18 points on the night.
New Hampshire (3-2) will face Winthrop on Sunday at 2pm.
